High-end looks at an affordable price

The Frigidaire Professional FPGF3077QF gas range (MSRP $1,699) is part of Frigidaire's updated Professional line, which draws inspiration from restaurant kitchens. This model aims to offer high-end aesthetics at a more accessible price point compared to professional-grade ranges from brands like Viking and Wolf. The design incorporates commercial range elements such as hard lines and thick handles, successfully translating them for a consumer audience without directly mimicking more expensive alternatives. The FPGF3077QF features burner controls on the front and oven settings adjusted via two backsplash dials, accompanied by a digital display. A notable innovation is the dual-countdown timer for the oven and rangetop, though its quiet alert sound is a minor drawback. The range is finished in smudge-proof stainless steel, which is effective against fingerprints but is slightly darker than standard stainless steel. Additional features include a two-hour self-clean mode, a temperature probe for cooking meats, and a storage drawer for kitchenware. The rangetop of the FPGF3077QF includes five gas burners with varying BTU strengths: a front right 18,000 BTU PowerPlus burner, a front left 9,500 BTU burner, a rear right 5,000 BTU burner, a rear left 12,000 BTU burner, and a central oval 10,000 BTU burner. While gas burners inherently offer a narrower temperature range compared to electric or induction, they provide responsiveness and the visual appeal of real flames. The range achieved a maximum temperature of 408°F and a minimum of 108°F, suitable for a variety of cooking tasks from searing to simmering. However, water boiling performance was a mixed bag, with only the front right PowerPlus burner efficiently boiling six cups of water in seven minutes. The other burners took significantly longer, ranging from 15 to 20 minutes. In contrast to the rangetop, the 5.6-cu.-ft. oven of the FPGF3077QF performed exceptionally well, proving to be one of the best gas ovens tested by the reviewers. Both standard and convection bake settings demonstrated high proficiency in baking cookies and cakes, with the convection setting offering a slight edge in evenness. Testing for evenness involved baking multiple batches of cookies and cakes and comparing their doneness. While cookies baked using the standard setting showed some minor inconsistencies in doneness, the convection setting yielded nearly perfectly even results, as did cakes baked with both settings. The broiler, however, was relatively slow, taking nine minutes to reach 605°F, which is longer than preferred. The oven's preheat time was average, reaching 350°F in 10 minutes for both standard and convection modes. The included temperature probe aids in precise cooking, particularly for roast meats. The Frigidaire FPGF3077QF is backed by a one-year limited warranty covering repairs or replacements not caused by owner fault, though rust damage is excluded. Despite some shortcomings with the rangetop burners, the range is considered a worthwhile investment, especially at a sale price of around $1,289. Its attractive design, excellent baking evenness, and fast preheat speeds are significant advantages. The primary reservation remains the inconsistent performance of most burners. Nevertheless, the Frigidaire FPGF3077QF is recommended for those seeking a stylish appliance with a strong oven performance and a powerful primary rangetop burner, serving as an attractive focal point in an upscale kitchen. #FrigidaireProfessional #GasRangeReview #KitchenAppliances #OvenPerformance #RangetopPerformance #HomeCooking #ApplianceReview #KitchenDesign #FrigidaireProfessional #GasRangeReview #KitchenAppliances #OvenPerformance #RangetopPerformance #HomeCooking #ApplianceReview #KitchenDesign
