Gatsby wall covering by Jeffrey Ibañez for Impact Acoustic
The Gatsby wall covering, designed by Jeffrey Ibañez for the Swiss brand Impact Acoustic, is an acoustic product that features a pattern of fine lines reminiscent of the Art Deco era. This wall covering is intended to be a minimal yet delicate geometric pattern, providing both aesthetic appeal and acoustic functionality. Impact Acoustic describes the design as bold, suggesting its potential to create a distinctive feature wall within a space.
The Gatsby wall covering is versatile, capable of being used as a standalone design element or integrated with other products from Impact Acoustic's collection. This flexibility allows designers and consumers to create cohesive or varied aesthetic experiences within an interior. The product's material composition highlights a commitment to sustainability, as it is crafted from Impact Acoustic's high-performance Archisonic textile. This textile is derived from recycled plastic bottles, with approximately 88 PET bottles utilized per square meter of the wall covering.
Environmental certifications further underscore the product's sustainable credentials. The Gatsby wall covering is both Cradle to Cradle certified and LEED accredited, indicating its adherence to stringent environmental and health standards throughout its lifecycle. These certifications ensure that the product meets criteria for material health, material re-utilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
In terms of aesthetic options, the Gatsby wall covering is available in a diverse palette of 28 colors. These colors were developed in collaboration with the creative agency Colour Hive, offering a range that spans from neutral tones to deep hues and energetic brights. This extensive color selection allows for broad applicability across various interior design schemes and personal preferences. Furthermore, the product is offered in two distinct thicknesses, 24 millimeters and 12 millimeters, providing additional choices for visual depth and acoustic performance requirements. The Gatsby wall covering merges art deco-inspired design with modern acoustic technology and sustainable material practices, offering a versatile and environmentally conscious solution for interior spaces.
