What's the best Ninja air fryer? We tested every single model to find out

This comprehensive guide evaluates various Ninja air fryer models, highlighting their features, performance, and suitability for different household needs. The article begins by emphasizing Ninja's commitment to quality and innovation in the air fryer market, noting their offerings range from compact options to family-sized models and even air fryer ovens. The author, an appliance expert, attests to the brand's reputation, having personally tested over 80 air fryers and living with several Ninja models. The core of the article is a detailed review of six top-recommended Ninja air fryers, categorized for quick reference based on their best use cases. The Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300UK is presented as the best overall, favored by food teams and editors for its immense 7.6L capacity, versatility with six cooking functions (max crisp, roast, bake, reheat, dehydrate, and air fry), and effective dual-drawer design that allows for simultaneous cooking with different settings. Its user-friendly panel and ceramic non-stick coating are highlighted as key advantages, though its bulkiness and noise are noted as minor drawbacks. The Ninja Air Fryer Max AF160UK is recommended as the best budget option, offering a 5.2L capacity and six cooking functions, including a 'max crisp' mode for frozen foods. Its compact footprint and affordability make it ideal for beginners or smaller households. For larger families, the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer AF500UK is introduced as the best large air fryer, boasting a massive 10.4L capacity and a unique FlexDrawer feature that allows conversion from one large drawer to two smaller ones. This model's seven cooking functions and user-friendly control panel are praised, despite its size and weight. The Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 Portable Air Fryer is suggested for couples or singles due to its compact design, portability, and innovative glass containers that double as storage. While it offers fewer functions (air fry, reheat, roast, bake), its consistent performance and convenient design are highly valued. The Ninja Foodi 11-in-1 SmartLid Multicooker is highlighted as the most versatile, featuring 11 functions including pressure cooking, slow cooking, and steaming. Its robust build and intuitive interface are lauded, though its large countertop footprint is acknowledged. Finally, the Ninja Combi 12-In-1 Multi-Cooker is positioned as the best air fryer oven, an appliance capable of cooking entire roast dinners in a significantly reduced time. Its 12.5L capacity, 12 cooking functions, and viewing window are significant advantages, making it a viable oven replacement for those with sufficient kitchen space. The article also includes a section on models that did not make the top six, such as the Ninja Double Stack XL, Ninja Speedi 10-In-1, and Ninja Foodi MAX Health Grill & Air Fryer, explaining their specific features and why they might be suitable for niche needs despite not being top picks. A detailed explanation of Ninja's naming conventions (Dual/Single Zones, Foodi, Speedi, Combi, MAX, SmartLid, Special Features like DoubleStack and FlexDrawer) helps consumers understand the different product lines. The testing methodology is outlined, emphasizing hands-on experience and evaluation of performance, design, ease of use, ease of care, and overall value for money. Practical advice is given on choosing the right Ninja air fryer based on size, volume, and desired functions, along with insights into non-toxic coatings and cleaning recommendations. The article concludes by reinforcing the value proposition of Ninja air fryers as a worthwhile investment.
