This Durable Outdoor Furniture Makes Al Fresco Living a Breeze

The Dwell x Chicory exclusive line of outdoor furniture aims to enhance outdoor living with its blend of chic design, comfort, and high-performance materials. The furniture collection is presented by Chicory, a partner with Dwell in launching this U.S.-made, eco-friendly, and modular outdoor furniture. The design incorporates rich teak frames made from FSC-certified wood, which naturally resists warping, rot, and corrosion. This Grade A teak wood requires no ongoing maintenance and develops a natural silver-gray patina over time, though its original golden-brown color can be preserved with teak sealer or deepened with teak oil. The inherent oils in the teak wood contribute to its durability and resistance to corrosive elements. A key feature of the collection is its fabric assortment, which is designed for both luxury and practicality. The fabrics offer comfortable and soft textures while being moisture- and stain-resistant. Ben Parsa, founder and CEO of Chicory, emphasizes the stain-resistant quality of these performance fabrics, noting that spills like water, wine, soda, or salsa typically bead on the surface, preventing absorption. Most spills can be cleaned with a quick blot from a microfiber cloth. The outdoor fabrics are solution-dyed, meaning the color permeates the entire fabric core, ensuring ultimate color-fastness and preventing fading. This dyeing process also allows for bleach cleaning without altering the fabric's color, providing a carefree maintenance experience and ensuring the furniture remains in premium condition. In addition to their functional benefits, the Dwell x Chicory collection introduces new luxury textures and fresh colorways to complement various outdoor aesthetics. The collection moves beyond traditional neutrals with modern hues such as "Ocean," a tranquil blue, and "Rust," an earthy burnt-orange. These color options allow for greater personalization and style integration into different outdoor settings. Parsa highlights that the collection offers a unique style and seating experience, bringing plush, luxurious comfort to outdoor spaces. The overall design and material choices are focused on durability, setting the stage for a low-maintenance and enjoyable outdoor living experience.
