Shark Tank Kwik-Hang Update 2025 | Season 9

The Kwik-Hang Curtain Brackets, an innovative solution for installing curtain rods without drilling, were featured on Season 9 of Shark Tank. Invented by Tom Burr, the product was pitched by his son, Derrek Burr, a former marine and police officer, seeking $80,000 for 20% equity in the family business. The product allows for quick installation using only a hammer, eliminating the need for measuring, screws, or nails, and is designed to prevent wall damage, making it ideal for renters. Despite presenting promising sales growth of 35% over the past year and healthy profit margins (single bracket kits cost $3.15 to make and sell for $10.95, while double kits sell for $17.95), Derrek Burr left Shark Tank without securing a deal. The sharks, while impressed by Derrek's motivation and the product's potential, deemed the business to be in its early stages for their investment criteria. Mark Cuban admired Burr's achievements but was not convinced to invest. Lori Greiner suggested a licensing route but concluded it wasn't a fit for her. Daymond John felt the business was not yet a full-time endeavor for Derrek, and Kevin O'Leary, despite seeing licensing potential, also declined. Robert Herjavec was moved by the product's backstory but considered the business too small for his investment. Consequently, all sharks declined to offer a deal. Despite the lack of an investment from the sharks, Kwik-Hang has experienced significant growth and success post-Shark Tank, evolving into a multi-million dollar enterprise. The exposure from the show, combined with the compelling story behind the product, garnered considerable attention. Following his appearance, Derrek expanded product sizes in 2017 and, by 2018, secured distribution deals with over 5,000 ACE Hardware stores. This expansion was soon followed by partnerships with major retailers including Home Depot, Walmart, and Amazon. The company has, however, faced challenges with counterfeit products, with Derrek actively working to remove cheap knock-offs from platforms like Amazon. Kwik-Hang has also received recognition for its veteran-run business model, employing veterans, and producing all products in the USA with American-made components. In April 2020, Derrek Burr was honored with the U.S. Patriot Award for these efforts. His entrepreneurial journey continued with an appearance on HGTV's Self-Made Mansions in February 2021. As of August 2023, Kwik-Hang has achieved over $9 million in lifetime sales and generates approximately $1 million annually. The products are available for purchase on the Kwik-Hang website, Amazon, and in various local hardware stores, indicating a robust and thriving business despite its initial Shark Tank outcome. #KwikHang #CurtainBrackets #SharkTank #Entrepreneurship #HomeImprovement #SmallBusinessSuccess #ProductInnovation #VeteranOwnedBusiness #KwikHang #CurtainBrackets #SharkTank #Entrepreneurship #HomeImprovement #SmallBusinessSuccess #ProductInnovation #VeteranOwnedBusiness
