Quiet luxury is over? Jessica Simpson's unexpectedly bold entryway lighting proves why dramatic decor is back for 2026

The "quiet luxury" trend in interior design is being actively challenged, with Jessica Simpson's entryway serving as a prime example of a shift toward more dramatic and opulent decor. Her entryway, captured in an Instagram post by photographer Gillian Laub, features striking elements that starkly contrast with understated styles. The space boasts forest green walls, crystal wall sconces, a gilded mirror, and a leather chair, complemented by a leopard print cushion for an added touch of fun. This bold aesthetic is characterized by its overt display of luxury rather than subtle elegance. The most prominent feature of Simpson's entryway is its lighting, which includes crystal pendant lights, sconces, and candelabras. These fixtures, incorporating gold, crystal, and pearl, create a brilliant and unapologetically opulent atmosphere. This style suggests a departure from minimalist design principles, embracing instead a rich and glamorous aesthetic. For those interested in replicating this "loud luxury" look, the article provides actionable advice. Sheena Marundan, a design expert at Archic Furniture, emphasizes the role of elegant pendant lights in creating drama and flair within an entryway. These lights draw the eye upward, adding a touch of glamor and contributing to a warm and inviting ambiance, thereby setting a welcoming mood for guests. The selection of lighting fixtures can also serve as a focal point, complementing the overall design theme of a space. Beyond their aesthetic contribution, such lighting choices offer practical benefits. Pendant lights provide effective illumination, ensuring the entryway is well-lit for safety and functionality. The inclusion of dimmer switches is suggested for adjusting light levels to suit various occasions, enhancing the versatility of the space. While "quiet luxury" styles will always have a place in design, the resurgence of bold, dramatic decor, exemplified by Jessica Simpson's green hallway, highlights the enduring appeal of opulent aesthetics. This design philosophy celebrates effortless drama and flair, signaling a move away from muted tones to a more glamorous interior style.
