Kobe brings back the retro trend of colour blocking

Luxury fabric specialist Kobe is reintroducing the colour blocking trend, drawing inspiration from catwalk fashion. This design approach, which allows for both bold statements and subtle elements of calm, is showcased through Kobe's extensive range of curtain and upholstery fabrics. David Harris, Kobe's managing director, notes that colour blocking has resurfaced from its origins in the 1960s and 1980s, offering a dynamic way to transform interior spaces with vibrant additions like curtains or soft furnishings. Kobe's Volterra collection epitomizes this trend with its multi-purpose matte-velvet look, suitable for both contract and domestic applications. The collection offers a palette of 54 shades, including striking fuchsia, deep blues, and lively greens, enabling the creation of impactful interiors. Harris highlights that while velvets inherently lend themselves to opulent schemes, their intensity can be modulated by maintaining simplicity in other aspects of the interior design. Further enhancing the colour blocking options, Kobe presents the Shantung collection, a curtain fabric crafted from a blend of polyester and linen. This collection boasts 50 shades, featuring contemporary jewel tones such as rich purples, aqua greens, and sapphire reds, ideal for introducing distinct pops of colour into a room. The Scala collection expands on this with an impressive 205 colours, spanning the entire spectrum from neutrals to black, ensuring a comprehensive selection for designers. Additionally, the Rome collection offers 32 room-high shades, and the Argento collection provides 47 statement tones, diversifying the choices for large-scale applications. Kobe's upholstery fabric range also supports the colour blocking trend with modern designs and textures available in a vibrant array of colours. The Pechemelba collection offers 53 colour choices, while Popping CS injects zest with its yellows, greens, and berry tones. The Real collection, distinguished by its 64-colour palette, is designed for severe contract use, demonstrating high durability with a rating of 60,000 rubs on the Martindale Rub Test, ensuring longevity and performance in demanding environments. This comprehensive offering allows designers to creatively integrate colour blocking into diverse interior projects, reflecting current design sensibilities while acknowledging historical influences. #ColourBlocking #KobeFabrics #InteriorDesignTrends #LuxuryFabrics #UpholsteryFabrics #CurtainFabrics #VolterraCollection #ShantungCollection #ScalaCollection #ColourBlocking #KobeFabrics #InteriorDesignTrends #LuxuryFabrics #UpholsteryFabrics #CurtainFabrics #VolterraCollection #ShantungCollection #ScalaCollection
