BDI Media Cabinets Make Any Entertainment Room Look Better
BDI has unveiled three new modern media cabinets, the Olis, Corridor SV, and Octave, designed to stylishly conceal audio/video components while enhancing any entertainment room's aesthetic. These new additions, priced between $1600 and $2000, offer a fresh interpretation of mid-century modern design principles, focusing on both form and function. Each console features robust ventilation, multiple wood grain color options, and various lengths to accommodate televisions up to 85 inches, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of living spaces and entertainment setups. A key design element across all models is the use of perforated doors, which effectively hide electronics such as soundbars and other A/V and gaming equipment without compromising sound quality or remote control functionality. This design philosophy aligns with BDI's commitment to integrating technology seamlessly into home decor, allowing the "sound to be heard, not seen." The cabinets also incorporate adjustable shelves to cater to different component sizes and wire management systems to keep cables organized and out of sight, contributing to a clean and uncluttered entertainment area. Removable back panels are included for easy installation and maintenance of electronics, further enhancing user convenience.
The Olis media console, designed by Louis A. Lara, is distinguished by its gently rounded edges and louvered doors, presented in a new Toasted Walnut finish. It provides a dedicated soundbar shelf and ample space for other components, making it suitable for TVs up to 65 inches. The design prioritizes acoustic transparency, allowing for clear sound transmission even when components are hidden. The Corridor SV, an evolution of an award-winning design by Matthew Weatherly, features a new slim profile resting on an elegant console base. It is available in two-door and four-door configurations and comes in Chocolate Stained Walnut or Charcoal Stained Ash finishes. The two-door model supports TVs up to 60 inches, while the four-door version can accommodate up to an 80-inch TV, offering flexible solutions for different room sizes and viewing preferences. Like the Olis, it includes flow-through ventilation, wire management, and significant storage capacity.
The Octave media cabinet, also designed by Matthew Weatherly, stands out with its unique perforated steel doors, which are specifically engineered to allow unimpeded sound passage, ensuring a full acoustic experience. This model is available in three-door and four-door versions and new Drift Oak or Toasted Walnut finishes. The three-door Octave is designed for TVs up to 70 inches, and the four-door model can hold up to an 85-inch TV. Practical features such as hidden wheels facilitate easy repositioning, and adjustable shelves provide versatility for various electronic devices, from soundbars to gaming systems. The emphasis on ventilation in all models is crucial for preventing overheating and extending the lifespan of valuable electronics. The wire management system and removable back panels further simplify the integration of complex home theater systems into a cohesive and visually appealing setup. These media cabinets collectively represent BDI's effort to blend sophisticated design with practical functionality, creating aesthetically pleasing and highly efficient solutions for modern home entertainment needs. They are available for purchase through BDI's website, with pricing varying based on the specific model and configuration.
