Quartz countertops get a metallic facelift with Cambria’s striking new designs
Cambria, a leading producer of American-made quartz surfaces, introduced six new countertop designs in November, marking a significant advancement in kitchen interiors. A key innovation is the brand's never-before-seen alloy veining, which is part of their new Alloy Collection. This feature is expected to revolutionize kitchen design by incorporating metallic elements directly into the quartz surfaces.
Summer Kath, Cambria’s EVP of Design, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation in quartz products, noting that the new designs, especially those in the Alloy Collection, are an industry first. This launch responds to the growing popularity of metallics in various design fields, from home interiors to fashion. The integration of metallics into countertops offers a novel approach to incorporating these trendy elements into home decor.
The new collection includes several distinct styles. The Berkshire Brass Satin Ridge countertop features a subtly raised texture, created by Cambria’s Satin Ridge finish, and is adorned with brass veining and delicate gray accents on a marbled white background. For those who prefer a smooth surface, the Berkshire Brass Smooth offers the same aesthetic without the texture. Another variant, Berkshire Brass Sculpted, provides softly textured brass veining on a delicate marble backdrop, adding modernity and sophistication.
For consumers who prefer steel accents, the Berkshire Steel Sculpted counter showcases softly textured steel veins accompanied by light gray accents on a warm, marbled white background. Cambria states that this design complements their existing Malvern and Whitby designs, which are known for their elegant, muted contrasts.
Two additional designs from the new collection contribute to a refined kitchen aesthetic. The Abbey countertop, part of Cambria’s Luxury Series, combines cool-toned gray and warm gold veining on a cream-toned quartz, creating a striking contrast suitable for various design schemes. The Everleigh countertop, from the Grandeur Series, features a blend of cool gray and warm honey tones, forming a soft, natural sand dune pattern that evokes an organic feel.
Styling these new metallic countertops effectively can enhance a living space. The Alloy Collection is ideal for homeowners looking to update their interiors. Incorporating metals in decor can be challenging, but Cambria's alloy countertops provide a subtle yet luxurious way to do so. For example, the Berkshire Brass Smooth can be paired with mixed metal accents like copper hardware and steel decor. Alternatively, the Everleigh countertop, with its natural aesthetic, can be complemented by biophilic design elements such as natural wood cabinetry and simple bronze accent pieces. With metallics becoming a staple in design, Cambria’s Alloy Collection offers an innovative option for integrating these materials into home interiors subtly and elegantly.
