Monforte soundproof partition by Raffaella Mangiarotti for IOC Project Partners

Monforte, a sculptural and undulating room divider designed by Italian architect and designer Raffaella Mangiarotti for IOC Project Partners, is featured on Dezeen Showroom. This innovative product serves to create both privacy and acoustic comfort in various settings, from separating individual desks to enclosing entire meeting rooms. The freestanding and mobile partition is available in different lengths, ranging from 120 to 190 centimeters, and is constructed from a series of tubes. These tubes are wrapped in sound-absorbing fabrics from Kvadrat, a Danish textile company known for its high-quality materials, which contribute significantly to the divider's primary function of mitigating ambient noise. A key design feature of Monforte is its modularity. The screen comprises individual modules that are easily connected via a chain located at the bottom. This allows for simple and quick reconfiguration into various shapes and arrangements, providing flexibility for dynamic spaces. For example, the divider can be arranged as a straight barrier between two tables to offer a sense of privacy for individuals or small groups. Alternatively, it can be curved into a more enclosed form, such as a snail-shaped wall, to create a designated breakout area where focused work or private conversations can occur without disturbance from surrounding activities. This adaptability makes Monforte suitable for diverse office environments, co-working spaces, and other communal areas where noise control and flexible spatial organization are crucial. Raffaella Mangiarotti articulated her vision for Monforte, stating her desire for a flexible, sound-absorbing screen capable of shaping space in an intelligent and fluid manner. Her objective was to create a product that could be easily adjusted according to the specific activity being undertaken, while also possessing appealing texture and rhythm. This emphasis on both functionality and aesthetic quality is evident in the product's design, which offers a range of finishes and colors, including a blush pink option, allowing it to complement various interior design schemes. The use of Kvadrat fabrics not only enhances the acoustic performance but also adds a tactile and visually rich element to the partition. Monforte's design addresses contemporary workplace needs, where open-plan offices often struggle with noise pollution and the lack of private spaces. By providing an effective acoustic barrier that is also highly customizable and visually appealing, the product offers a practical solution to these challenges. Its ability to create temporary or semi-permanent partitions without extensive construction makes it a versatile tool for architects and interior designers seeking to optimize office layouts and improve the working environment. The product aims to foster an environment conducive to concentration and collaboration by minimizing distractions, thereby enhancing productivity and overall well-being in busy commercial spaces. #OfficeFurniture #RaffaellaMangiarotti #RoomDividers #AcousticProducts #InteriorDesign #FlexibleWorkspaces #ModularDesign #OfficeFurniture #RaffaellaMangiarotti #RoomDividers #AcousticProducts #InteriorDesign #FlexibleWorkspaces #ModularDesign
