The existing knobs were removed, and the pinewood drawer fronts were given a coat of white paint to cover dark knots and create a uniform base that would complement the chosen raffia fabric. Scott used a readily available Behr hue called Ancient Ivory for this step. Next, to ensure proper fitting of the drawers after the makeover, Scott marked the inside of each drawer front with numbers 1 through 6. This step is crucial for IKEA furniture, as drawer dimensions can sometimes vary slightly, preventing perfect alignment if not pre-assigned.
