The Block 2025 Room Reveals: Han and Can's Alfresco Terrace and Stratco Shed Week 10 | Season 21

In Week 10 of The Block 2025, contestants Han and Can faced significant financial constraints while working on their Alfresco Terrace and Stratco Shed. Having narrowly missed a Room Reveal win the previous week, they were left with very limited funds, forcing them to undertake a large portion of the labor themselves. Their vision included transforming the shed into an art studio and incorporating a Zen garden into their alfresco space, aiming to create a sense of peacefulness and tranquility. Despite their financial difficulties, they were determined to "do something extra, go a bit beyond" what was expected. Upon judging, the alfresco area received mixed feedback. Judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze, and Marty Fox highlighted several shortcomings. Darren noted the absence of outdoor blinds and heating, features typically considered significant selling points. While Shaynna praised the design of the Zen garden as "absolutely incredible, elegant, classy," Marty strongly disagreed, viewing it as a "big miss" and a waste of valuable space. He argued that potential buyers would prioritize extra decking and seating over a Zen garden, suggesting it detracted from the area's functionality. Shaynna, however, defended the ample seating and color scheme, but ultimately conceded that Han and Can had struggled to "sell the dream" for their outdoor space. The alfresco area also appeared "unfinished" to Shaynna, with un-grouted tiles and a lack of styling. Darren pointed out another flaw: the exposed back of the barbecue, emphasizing that it was not designed to be viewed from that angle. The judges' hopes for an improvement in the shed were not met. While acknowledging the effort Han and Can put into "beautifying a shed," the judges questioned the practicality and return on investment of some decisions. Darren specifically criticized the inclusion of skylights in a shed, calling it a "very expensive solution," and felt the decorative tile slabs on the walls were unnecessary. He summarized the general sentiment by stating that while the effort was commendable, it was misdirected, as it took away from tasks with potentially higher returns. Marty concurred, identifying significant time management issues. The second half of the shed presented further challenges, with judges noting a "disconnect" and an "overstimulated" environment. Marty found the combination of two different types of brick, wallpaper, skylights, and varied brick colors confusing and unfinished. Shaynna expressed disbelief at these design choices in Week 10 of the competition, and Marty quickly exited the room, declaring it "not a good space." Despite these critiques, the judges expressed anticipation for Han and Can's main garden, suggesting it held potential. Han and Can acknowledged the negative feedback but attributed their struggles to the necessity of performing much of the work themselves, which came at the cost of refined finishes and strategic design choices. They viewed it as a sacrifice made for the overall completion of their home, highlighting the difficulties of balancing ambitious visions with limited resources in a high-stakes competition environment. #TheBlock2025 #RoomReveal #AlfrescoTerrace #StratcoShed #HomeDesign #OutdoorLiving #ZenGarden #RealityTV #InteriorDesign #TheBlock2025 #RoomReveal #AlfrescoTerrace #StratcoShed #HomeDesign #OutdoorLiving #ZenGarden #RealityTV #InteriorDesign
