For instance, the main lobby features intricately designed screens behind the reception desks, which are crafted to mimic the fishing nets historically used in Al Khor. The reception desks themselves are constructed from metal with an embossed pattern that reflects the map of the creek, providing both a historical anchor and a visually striking focal point upon arrival. Innovation in space planning and material selection is evident throughout the Marriott Marquis Dubai. The lobby's flooring incorporates concentric circles, designed to emulate the ripples of the creek's water, interspersed with modern, abstract Emirati patterns. This creates a dynamic visual narrative that guides guests through the space. A notable feature in the lobby is a large, dropped carpet that transitions from a mosaic to a real carpet, extending under the lobby lounge area.
