Drybar's straightening brush is like a flatiron and paddle brush in one — it helps me style my hair in under 25 minutes

The Drybar Brush Crush, a styling tool that combines the functions of a flatiron and a paddle brush, offers an efficient solution for straightening hair. The product is designed to smooth out kinks, waves, and curls, reducing styling time to under 25 minutes. It is suitable for all hair types and operates by heating a plate within the paddle brush design, allowing users to brush their hair while simultaneously straightening it. The brush can reach temperatures up to 450°F, with recommendations for lower heat settings for fine or damaged hair. The use of a heat protectant is advised regardless of hair type to maintain hair health. This review details the experience of using the Drybar Brush Crush on hair that had undergone keratin treatments. The author previously faced challenges with styling, including lengthy flatironing sessions (40 minutes), blowouts (50 minutes), or a six-hour process without heat involving various oils and a tight bun. The Brush Crush was acquired to address persistent kinks resulting from the keratin treatment wearing off. The tool can be purchased individually or as part of a kit, the Drybar Get Brushin' & Crushin' Set, which includes additional hair care products such as detangling spray, heat protectant spray, dry shampoo, and texturizer, along with shampoo and conditioner samples. Testing involved using the Brush Crush on both freshly washed hair and second-day hair. Initial temperature settings were adjusted from 400°F to the maximum for medium-to-thick hair. Hair was prepped with Drybar's Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler and Hot Toddy Heat Protectant Spray. The styling process involved dividing the head into sections, experimenting with both casual brushing and more deliberate, flatiron-like passes. The latter method, which involved holding sections taut and brushing through slowly, yielded a smooth and straight finish with added volume and movement. While the Brush Crush effectively smoothed hair, some limitations were noted. The heating element is concentrated in the center of the brush, making it difficult to tame small hairs around the part, ears, or neck. This can result in some flyaways that the brush alone cannot address. Furthermore, despite its brush-like appearance, a more effective straightening result is achieved by treating it like a flatiron, working in small, taut sections rather than simply brushing through. Although this extends the styling time beyond a quick brush, the overall ease of use is maintained. Ultimately, the Drybar Brush Crush is considered a worthwhile investment for those seeking to reduce hair styling time and achieve a smooth, straight look without the need for multiple tools. Its effectiveness in delivering desired results and user-friendliness make it a valuable addition to a hair care routine, despite minor drawbacks related to localized heating and the need for a more deliberate styling technique. #DrybarBrushCrush #HairStraightening #HairStylingTools #BeautyReview #HairCare #TimeSavingBeauty #KeratinTreatment #HeatProtectant #BeautyProducts #DrybarBrushCrush #HairStraightening #HairStylingTools #BeautyReview #HairCare #TimeSavingBeauty #KeratinTreatment #HeatProtectant #BeautyProducts
