FlexiSpot E7 Pro standing desk review: the upgrade my home office needed

The FlexiSpot E7 Pro standing desk is reviewed as a significant upgrade for a home office, particularly in the post-pandemic era where a reliable work-from-home setup is crucial. The reviewer, Zoe Bennetts, sought a piece of furniture that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing for her new study. Having previously experienced positive results with FlexiSpot products, she opted to test the E7 Pro height-adjustable desk alongside the BS8 ergonomic chair. The initial impression upon delivery was the unexpected weight of the boxes, necessitating assistance to move them. Despite the bulk, the individual components of the desk were noted for their high quality, particularly the pure oak desktop, which was larger and more robust than previous desks. Assembly, often a daunting task, was straightforward due to clear labeling and a step-by-step user manual, supplemented by FlexiSpot's YouTube tutorials. Even though the pre-installation guide suggested a two-person assembly, the reviewer managed to put it together solo in about an hour, utilizing a drill for efficiency. The core feature of the E7 Pro is its adjustable height mechanism, offering a range of 63.5cm to 128.5cm. The control keypad features an intuitive touchscreen interface, including a child lock, memory presets, and an anti-collision system. The ability to save up to four different height settings allows for quick transitions between sitting and standing positions, promoting movement throughout long workdays. This feature helps to prevent prolonged sedentary periods by facilitating easy changes in posture while maintaining access to all necessary work equipment. The spacious solid oak desktop, initially a concern for its size, proved to be a major advantage, comfortably accommodating a dual-monitor setup, a laptop, and various peripherals, with ample room remaining for other items. While the desk lacks integrated drawer storage, its generous surface area largely compensates for this. The desk’s stability, even at its maximum height, was a key highlight, along with the quiet and smooth operation of the lifting mechanism. Complementing the desk, the FlexiSpot BS8 ergonomic chair was also reviewed. Its assembly was even quicker, taking only 20 minutes, involving attaching wheels, handles, and the headrest. The chair’s comfort was lauded, with features like adjustable contoured lumbar support (5cm vertical range) and nine backrest options, significantly improving ergonomic support compared to standard office chairs. An arch-shaped headrest and reclining function further enhance comfort, ensuring full body support during seated work. The FlexiSpot E7 Pro is positioned as a premium investment, with a starting price of £579.98. While expensive, its quality, stability, and ergonomic benefits are presented as justifying the cost for professionals seeking a high-end, long-lasting work-from-home solution. It is particularly recommended for those who prioritize ergonomics, aesthetics, and a robust setup capable of accommodating multiple devices and managing cables efficiently.
